FIT ONE
A Juvenile, Possessed Bald Eagle. Cheakamus River, BC.
Alright, here we go. I’m going to try and give myself one of those projects. You know those projects cool kids do on Instagram? It’s like one of those #365______ challenges where you post everyday so you get back into a creative groove. Routine is good. Repetition hones skills. Engagement with the Social Multiverse or you know whatever.
Anyways. I did a photo-blog when I first came out to Vancouver for school. I posted a photo everyday for almost two years. I probably also wrote weirdly cryptic captions and other things 20 year old art students moan about.
That routine was nice. And well. I kinda need to find a routine again that lets me make things more often. I need to feel like I have a project or an outlet going. I’ve had to cope with a lot of changes in my life in the last two years and it’s been a great challenge. (Coles Notes: tried to start a new job/career, pandemic hits, effectively pause racing and training for two years, worked 7 jobs in 2020, playing catchup, moving to Squamish, trying to learn to develop professionally…) Anyways, creativity was something I wasn’t able to carve time for.
But fuck that. Here we go, dive in! Go big! Go home!
Basically, I’m calling the series FIT. I was going to call it FIT 2022, or 365, or something that all made sense and was halfway clever. But then I thought it looked like I was going to workout everyday in 2022. Which, could be cool, but it’s not that. It’s short for FREE INTERNET THERAPY. Because, really that’s what on online journal really is. Even bigtime influencers I’m sure find therapy in releasing creations out into the world. So that’s what it will be. I set aside 30 minutes each day to make something for this internet.
Caveats: I don’t know what I’m going to make. It might be a photo. I might just doodle in my sketchbook and upload of a photo of that. Maybe I’ll write more. Who knows? I don’t. Anyways, today’s photo is an eagle that looks possessed and that’s pretty fucking cool.
