FIT TWENTY
This is in Victoria, somewhere, at least two years ago.
Work today was on location at Whytecliff Park. There’s nothing particularly special about that fact. But it was such a nice, enjoyable day. I mean, the last time I was there with this same show, it was one of the wettest days I’ve worked in film.
Anyways. The day turned out special, not just because of the weather. Or the pod of Orcas we saw swimming North during a spectacular sunset. Honestly it’s that I shot a roll of film on my 120 (medium format) camera out in the wild. On my lunch no less, in a beautiful spot.
That’s three rolls of 120 I’ve shot in less than a week. Sure, I’m actually a little frustrated with my scanner right now and I’m really longing for the darkroom after many, many years away. But it feels so good shooting film. Today I shot mostly landscapes, with one portrait on the beach. I remember specifically trying to frame Joe entirely in the square of the waist-finder, thinking what nice light we had.
I hope they all turned out how I want them to. I haven’t shot just straight lightmeter in a while. But sometimes the wait is half the fun.
