FIT THIRTEEN

It’s spectacular here. Even on a day where I completely screwed up my initial photo-plans, I went for a walk on the East Side of the Estuary and was treated to this stunner light.

It’s funny. Because it looks good in colour too, but I just like black and white more. Honestly I love straight photography. I’m looking forward to getting my shit together a little more and returning here (probably multiple times) with the 4x5 and pretending I’m the Ansel Adams of Squamish. There’s quite a bit of very techy photography that was an influence in my photography when I was younger, Adams (he influenced every photographer who ever went camping, tell me I’m wrong) and one of my favourites Bernd and Hilla Becher.

Anyways, it’s nice to feel like I totally blew it (lets just say I was at a river about two hours earlier without a memory card and a nice bird chillin in front of me), but instead came out with something I didn’t expect today and is really quite nice. I’ve got a few other frames I’ll tease out soon. And I’d like to make some test prints in the coming weeks. Happy Thursday internet.
